To order custom ties, send one written brief covering what the tie should look like, who will wear it and how many of each version you need. Attach artwork or a reference sample, then confirm the quoted specification before sampling. Approve the final sample and order details before bulk production.
You do not need to know every manufacturing term before making contact. Mark undecided items as choices to review. The important distinction is between a firm requirement, such as a school’s approved stripe colors, and a preference, such as a fabric you would like to compare.
What should you include in the first inquiry?
| Brief item | What to send | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Use and product | School, staff uniform, retail, event or gift; necktie or bow tie. | Helps frame the design and wearing requirements. |
| Fabric | Preferred fiber or a request to compare options. | Defines a major part of the product specification. |
| Dimensions | Finished width and length with units; quantities for each size. | Avoids an undefined “standard size.” |
| Artwork | Logo or pattern file, color references, size and placement. | Enables a review of the production method. |
| Quantity | Pieces per design, color and size, plus the total. | Makes the order mix clear. |
| Branding and packaging | Labels, hangtags, individual packing and any gift box. | Includes costs beyond the tie itself. |
| Delivery | Destination and required arrival date. | Separates production planning from transport time. |
For a replacement order, send a physical reference if available and explain what must match. A reference photograph is useful for direction, but does not establish exact dimensions, fabric or color.

Prepare artwork that can be reviewed
LuxoTie accepts AI, PDF, PSD, CDR, JPG and PNG files, along with product photos, sample images, dimensions and Pantone references. Send the best original file available. If you only have a small image, identify it as a reference and ask what further artwork is needed.
Specify whether the logo belongs on the main blade, in an all-over repeat or on a separate label. These are different instructions. Include the intended logo dimensions and tell the supplier if simplification needs approval from your brand or school.
If the production method is undecided, the woven versus printed tie guide explains what to compare. Do not choose a process solely because it appears on a competitor’s product description.
Split the quantity before checking MOQ
LuxoTie’s standard starting MOQ is 100 pieces. Material, weaving or printing method, customization and special packaging can change the applicable minimum, so confirm it for the actual order breakdown.
For example, a proposed order of 300 ties across three designs is not the same production request as 300 identical ties. State all three quantities and ask which minimum applies. This is an order-planning example, not confirmation that every split is available.
Ask whether labels or boxes have separate minimums and whether any setup or sample charges are listed separately. A unit price is only meaningful when the included specification is clear.

Include the details customers will receive
For private label ties, include brand labels, care labels, hangtags and packing in the initial brief. Send the artwork and intended wording for each item. Review where a label will be sewn and how the tie will sit in its packaging.
For school or staff orders, identify any sorting requirement by size, design or department. Request confirmation of the packing arrangement rather than assuming it is included. The customization page outlines the available areas to discuss.

Plan back from the arrival date
State when the ties must arrive, not just when an event takes place. Allow time for artwork review, sampling, revisions, approval, production and transport. Sample and production schedules depend on the design, material availability, process and quantity; obtain a project-specific schedule.
Ask which milestone starts the production lead time and which changes could move the delivery date. Keep one named approver for artwork and samples so conflicting comments do not create repeated revisions. LuxoTie’s order and production process describes the stages from inquiry to delivery.
