Design the Print Around the Finished Bow

Artwork can look different after the fabric is cut, folded and shaped around the center knot. Map the visible wings, knot, reverse areas, pattern direction and repeat before sampling. Review the finished bow from the front and sides so important logos or details are not hidden by seams or folds.

Printed Bow Tie Details

The bow’s folds change the printed design’s appearance. Develop artwork, wearing format, and presentation for the finished shape.

Wing and Center Artwork

Repeating patterns or placed graphics can be fitted to the bow layout. Scale and direction affect the design visible across the wings and center knot.

Turquoise and green self-tie bow ties with repeated animal motifs.

Self-Tie and Pre-Tied Forms

The same print can look different in a self-tie or pre-tied bow. Shape, folds and proportions determine how the pattern appears when worn.

Labels and Event Presentation

Custom labels, cards, and individual packaging can identify each printed colorway or event version. Specify separate identification and grouped packing where needed.

Choose the Print Method

Choose the print method after reviewing the material, artwork detail, color plan, coverage, quantity and intended finish.

  • Screen Printing
Clear graphics with selected colors can use repeat or placement layouts. Approve color count, edges, scale, coverage, material compatibility, and sample appearance.
  • Heat Transfer
Multicolor graphics or placement designs can use this method where it suits the material. Check artwork, transfer area, surface feel, folds, edges, and the finished sample before production.
  • Digital Direct Printing
Detailed, gradient, illustrated, or full-color artwork needs a check of file quality, print size, color references, fabric response, and the finished bow.

Define the Print Layout

Place artwork for the visible bow areas and intended viewing direction, then approve the layout across folds and the center knot.

  • All-Over Repeat
Brand motifs, illustrations, or themed graphics repeat across the fabric. Approve motif size, spacing, direction, repeat, seam transitions, and visibility on the finished bow.
  • Placement Logo
Mark the size and position of a logo or graphic on the bow layout. Check that folds or the knot do not conceal the intended visible area.
  • Directional Artwork
Stripes, text, characters, or illustrations may need a fixed top, bottom, left, or right orientation. Approve direction on each visible wing, reverse area, and the final tied or prepared bow.

Prepare Production-Ready Print Artwork

Provide files that show the final design at the intended physical size, with clear color, repeat, placement and variant instructions.

  • Vector Artwork
Provide logos, line art, text and scalable graphics in AI, PDF or CDR where available. Keep approved shapes and lettering clear, and specify final dimensions, colors and placement.
  • Raster Artwork
Provide illustrations, gradients or image-based designs in PSD, JPG or PNG, with enough pixel detail at the intended print size. Enlarging a small file cannot restore missing detail.
  • Color References
Identify each key color with Pantone values, physical samples, current products or buyer-approved visual references. Approve the result on the selected material rather than assuming a screen display will match production.
  • Variant Map
For orders with several colorways, artworks, events, roles or packing groups, assign a unique code and piece quantity to each artwork, color, wearing format, label and pack combination.

Plan Presentation and Packing

Choose packing based on protection, presentation, distribution and the number of printed variants in the order.

  • Individual OPP Bag
Separate and protect each printed bow tie. Specify whether labels, paper cards, or other inserts go inside or outside the bag.
  • Paper Card
Supply approved artwork, dimensions, print content, attachment details, and product orientation for retail, wedding, event, or gift presentation.
  • Color or Gift Box
Approve box type, dimensions, artwork, inserts, bow orientation, and quantity before quotation for brand, gift, wedding, or formal presentation.
  • Display Box or Cloth Bag
Check product fit, materials, branding, closure, and the final packed sample for display, presentation, or reusable soft packing.
  • Grouped Outer Carton
Keep printed variants identifiable during delivery and receiving. Define pack quantities, variant marks, carton labels, and grouping for each order line.

Keep the Approved Print Reference for Reorders

Keep the approved material, print method, artwork, scale, layout, colors, format, bow dimensions, neck details, labels, packing, quantities, and buyer approval under one version code. For reorders, provide the previous order reference and reconfirm current specifications, material availability, and production color.

Custom Printed Bow Tie FAQs

Custom printed bow ties use buyer-supplied logos, gradients, illustrations, repeats, or themed graphics in self-tie or pre-tied formats. These designs offer more detail than solid colors for events, weddings, hospitality, gifts, brands, and retail. LuxoTie reviews material, print method, layout, shape, labels, packing, and quantities for production.
Choose a print method based on the material, artwork detail, color plan, coverage, quantity and intended finish. Available methods are screen printing, heat transfer and digital direct printing, subject to project review. Layouts may use an all-over repeat, placement logo or directional artwork. Before production, approve the scale, direction, folds, seams, center-knot visibility and finished bow sample.
Send AI, PDF, PSD, CDR, JPG or PNG files where available, along with the intended physical size, repeat or placement map, Pantone or physical color references, wearing format, bow dimensions and sample images. Raster artwork needs enough pixel detail at the intended print size. List each artwork, colorway, label, packing option and quantity under a unique variant code.
The MOQ is 100 pieces. A custom sample usually takes 5–7 days, and bulk production usually takes about 20–25 days after artwork and sample approval. Timing depends on the material, print method, artwork coverage, variants, labels and packing. LuxoTie checks incoming materials, work in progress and finished goods against the approved sample or confirmed specification.
For a quotation, send the intended use, material preference, artwork files, color references, print method or desired appearance, layout, self-tie or pre-tied format, bow dimensions, total quantity and quantity by variant. Include labels, packing, destination and required date. For a reorder, provide the previous order reference and reconfirm the current artwork, colors, construction, labels, packing and quantities before production.
